Ray Bradbury is one of my all-time favorite writers. I love his prose. Have you read From the Dust Returned (http://www.amazon.com/Dust-Returned-Ray-Bradbury/dp/0380789612)? It's a more recent work that returns to the October Country, a sort of novel that's really made up of vignettes.
